Aston Martin trading as Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings PLC is a vehicle manufacturer of luxury sport cars and more recently SUV’s. Founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford. As Lionel Martin raced at Aston Hill near Aston Clinton, he adopted the Aston name for the company name. Originally building cars at a London based premises in Kensington, their offering including cars for Grand Prix’s, which broke speed and endurance records at the Brooklands circuit. David Brown purchased Aston Martin in 1947 including the Lagonda division. In 1954, Aston Martin moved to Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire and remained there until 2007 when it then migrated main operations to Gaydon, Warwickshire on a former RAF site. The Newport Pagnell site has remained as a classic car works department which provides servicing, parts, sales and restoration services.
