DKW Auto Union

DKW was a german motorcycle and car manufacturer founded in 1916. DKW (Dampf-Kraft-Wagen) literally translates as “steam powered car”. In 1932, DKW merged with companies Audi, Horch and Wanger to form Auto Union. The DKW name survived with DKW badged vehicles built under licence in Argentina (1969) and Brazil (1967). Auto Union GmbH which sis owned by Audi AG owns the DKW trademark.
