Lotus (Cars Limited) is a British automotive company founded in 1948 by Colin Chapman who built his first racing car in his garage in North London. Famous for many racing and road cars including the Lotus Seven, Europa, Elan and seventies & eighties models, the Espirit, Elite, Eclat & Excel. Nineties models included the Elise and Exige.
